If there is any doubt about development, the discovery of a problem or abnormality at an early stage will allow access to support and rehabilitation, promoting healthy growth.

The Medical Consultation
The medical examinations for 5-year-olds are supplemented by checks on social development, cognitive development, and a behavioral evaluation of the child. Therefore, the points and procedures for the diagnosis of a 5-year-old child are described below.
1) Medical examination items for 5-year-olds
The examination mainly assesses conversation and instructed behavior. Auscultation, palpation and inspection of the chest and abdomen are not mandatory. Rather, by speaking, it is possible to examine language development, social development, empathy, etc., perform actions according to instructions, and assess the appropriateness and qualitative level of actions in society.
The Tottori Municipality conducts the examination below in the 5-year child development counseling.

・ There will be questions for the children about meals at daycare centers and kindergartens.
・ Which food is tastier.
・ What kind of games they usually do, etc.
[2] Imitation of behavior
・The child may be asked to imitate gestures such as raising the hand to the side, standing with eyes closed, etc.
